EXPOSED: Enugu State's First Lady Clara is Being Manipulated By Gov Chime

Posted by Unknown Kamis, 07 November 2013 0 komentar

The goings on in Enugu State where the First Lady, Clara Chime has been on lock down for months now is one that is very troubling. Reports have it that the woman is mentally unstable but it appears that is not all to the issue as she and her family members have not been allowed to seek help for her.

Human rights activist, Femi Falana, has dismissed the claims by Governor Sullivan Chime of Enugu State that he did not receive a brief from his wife to represent her and help rescue her from the illegal detention imposed on her by her husband, the governor.

“When Governor Chime was recently medically challenged he was not subjected to solitary confinement in the Government House but flown abroad for adequate medical treatment.”
“I wish to say, without any fear of contradiction, that I have her instructions in writing to challenge her illegal detention at the Government House, Enugu.
“Through the assistance of some of the security personnel in the Government House she has since spoken to me on phone to confirm her instructions...
"Indeed, Mrs Chime's mother and her personal physician have also been in touch with me urging me to take all appropriate measures to secure her freedom from Governor Chime's illegal confinement.”
Falana revealed in a statement on Wednesday. He also pointed out that contrary to the governor’s diversionary statement, he does not need the instructions of citizens to demand for their release.

“Without any instructions I am duty bound to file cases in court to secure the enforcement of the fundamental rights of detainees to personal liberty. For the avoidance of doubt, the doctrine of locus standi in the area of human rights has been abolished by the Fundamental Rights (Enforcement Procedure) Rules 2009 which came into force on December 1, 2009,” he said.

Mr. Falana noted that at the press conference Governor Chime succeeded in confirming the allegation that he has held his wife in illegal custody but attempted to justify the illegality by saying his wife has "a medical challenge".

Falana said: “Mr Chime has conspired with his private physicians to sentence his wife to unwarranted mental torture and psychological trauma in a room in the Government House for the past four months. If Chime's claim is correct that the wife is non compos mentis, when was the Enugu Government House converted to a psychiatric hospital?

“Having confirmed the allegation that he has willfully infringed the fundamental rights of his wife to personal liberty, dignity of the person and freedom of movement, Governor Chime should release his wife from illegal custody [and] be warned not to divert attention from the brutal abuse of the rights of his wife.
"If he and his doctors are convinced that she is medically challenged they should send her to a hospital for quick recovery!”
Falana thanked the Director-General of the SSS who, he said, has directed security personnel attached to the Government House to desist from teaming up with the Governor to hold his wife hostage.

Posted by Unknown Rabu, 06 November 2013 0 komentar

Governor Sullivan Chime of Enugu State on Tuesday night denied subjecting his wife, Mrs. Clara Chime, to accommodate arrest and has vowed to protect her from being exposed to ridicule. Chime made this denial in the current presence of some journalists, his wife and her elder brother, Mr. Tony Igwe.

Also present were the governor's siblings, Mrs. May Oji and Dr. Jide Chime, along with Mrs. Chime's neuro-psychiatric doctor, Dr. Aham Agumuo, among a couple of others. At the interview session, the governor's wife denied sending any petition to the National Human Rights Commission alleging unlawful detention by her husband.

She also denied hiring the services of Mr. Femi Falana to get her freedom from an alleged house arrest at the Governor's Lodge, Enugu. Continue after the break.
Falana had claimed in his letter to media houses and the Inspector-General of Police that he was engaged by the governor's wife to get her freedom from alleged house arrest.

The state governor, however, stated so it was “so disturbing” for him to speak out publicly about his wife's health challenges.

He vowed to accomplish all within his power, regardless of the private pains, to protect her from ridicule.

“Well, my wife has some medical challenges and it could be very unkind for me to share her condition on the pages of newspapers.
“I have inked everything to protect her integrity and I'm not now likely to expose her to ridicule because some individuals desire to exploit her situation to drag me into a needless war of words,” Chime said.

Graphic Photos: Gov. Peter Obi Political Thugs Kill 30 Worshippers At Holy Ghost

Posted by Unknown Sabtu, 02 November 2013 0 komentar

There is a breaking news that over 30 persons allegedly died early hours today [November 2, 2013] at the Holy Ghost Adoration Ground after All Progressive Grand Alliance [APGA] started campaigning at the prayer house.

The Holy Ghost Adoration Ground which is located at Uke town in Anambra State is one of many biggest Catholic prayer groups in Anambra State officiated and managed by Fr. Obimma (Ebube Muonso).

In accordance with reports, Gov Peter Obi, Willie Obiano and the APGA team had entered the bottom to campaign but when the audience opposed them, his people rushed the crowd, beating women & some men like babies.

This reportedly caused a stampede that eventually got a lot of worshippers injured. At the end of the stampede, over 28 corpses were seen littered on the grounds. An estimate of over 200 were injured. A sizable percent of the dead and injured are considered to be Ngige supporters.

Peter Obi,Willie Obiano and the APGA team left the Adoration ground around 3 or 4 am in the morning while the incident happened at the end of the adoration service.

After the final blessings and as people will slowly marching to the exit, a mole; supposedly someone positioned at the exit to raise the alarm, started shouting fire fire fire fire from the outside of the arena.

Given the large number of people slowly moving out of the ground, they hurriedly began rushing back into the adoration ground to avoid the fire; a fire which many of them didn't even see.
This caused many of them to be wounded and I was lucky nothing happened to people close to me. Some fainted while others lost consciousness.

When the stampede subsided, the bodies were gathered and were prayed for. Many of them rose up after the prayers and sprinkling of the holy water while the remaining were taken to Crown Hospital while one was taken to St. Charles Borromeo hospital Onitsha.

Many of the unconscious are regaining stability as at now and we thank God that some professed dead are returning to life; this has brought some amount of joy in front of Crown hospital.

This is an individual report and has nothing to do with any political party. This is the state of things and how it occurred at Uke.

Bodies numbering between 10 and 30 were carried away from the ground but official statistics and reports is yet to be released from the Adoration ground or from the hospital.

Gov. Fashola presents N489.7b budget estimates for 2014 to Lagos Assembly -

Posted by Unknown 0 komentar
The Lagos State Gov. Babatunde Fashola, on Wednesday presented budget estimates of N489.7 billion for the year 2014 to the State House of Assembly.

Lagos, the former capital of Nigeria is the country’s commercial nerve centre. The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the budget was about N8 billion less than the 2013 estimates of N497.27 billion.

NAN further reports that the budget is comprised of a proposed capital expenditure of N225.02 billion and a recurrent figure of N234. 67 billion.

Its capital to recurrent ratio is 58:42 for the year 2014, as against 52:48 in 2013.

The sectoral allocations of the budget in size and percentage terms would be General Public Service N100, 215 billion, which amounts to 20.47 per cent, as against N966, 99 billion for 2013.

Public Order and Safety has N17.97 billion at 3.6 per cent, compared with the N368.03 billion provided for in 2013.

Economic Affairs with N160.05 billion recorded 32.68 per cent, as against N436.17 billion in the 2013 budget.

Environmental Protection was reduced to N39.73 billion, with 8.11 per cent, compared with N44.13 billion in the 2013 financial year.

Others include: Housing and Community Amenities N50.54 billion, amounting to 10.32 per cent, from N46.15 billion in 2013.

The Health sector got N37.81 billion, with 7.72 per cent, compared with N42. 5 billion in 2013.

Also, recreation, culture and religion had N3.48 billion representing 0.71 per cent, as against N5.75 billion in 2013.

A total of N77.42 billion was earmarked for education, which amounted to 15.81 per cent, from N64.34 billion in 2013.

Social Protection has N2.47 billion, representing 0.50 per cent lower than N3. 2 billion in 2013.

“Let me start by saying emphatically that budget implementation in Lagos is no longer a matter of capacity, as we have a highly resourceful and well-motivated work force in the public service.

“The budget is constrained by the limitation of financial resources. As our population continues to grow, the provision that we require to support them and meet their expectation are also growing.

“Regrettably, the financial resources are not growing at the rate of our people’s expectation.

“In order to sustain this progress, we therefore propose a budget of N489.690 billion for the year 2014, “ Fashola said.

Adeyemi Ikuforiji, the Speaker of the House, said that the presentation of the budget by the governor before the House was a constitutional matter.

Ikuforiji said that adherence to the counsel has been the Assembly’s watchword in dealing with the executive arm of government in the budgetary process of Lagos State.

He also said that the House was focusing on how the budget could maximally benefit the generality of the people and address the issues of poverty and deprivation.

“I want to assure you, on behalf of all of us, that we will apply our utmost best, within our legislative powers, to give this budget proposals prompt attention.

“The detailed attention will be given for its transformation into an appropriation bill for the benefit, prosperity, growth and development of Lagos State.

“As the House of Assembly parleys with the executive to move the state forward, let me reiterate here that there is a great need to also put life in our local councils, so that they can realise the objectives of their existence.

“There are indications that various local government councils and local council development areas could perform better than they do presently, if they are adequately funded and monitored.

“Therefore, our state budget proposals should always be geared towards promoting and actualising unity amongst our people, “ Ikuforiji added.

Bayelsa State Govt Demolishes Gov. Dickson's Personal Home

Bayelsa State Government on Wednesday demolished a one-storey private building owned by Governor Seriake dickson because it obstructed the Right-of-Way as well as intruding on the state Capital City Master Plan.

Deputy Governor John Jonah told journalists that the location of the Governor’s house obstructed the Right-of-Way, hence there would be no compensation for him.
He said:

In line with the development control of the CCDA and urban renewal of the state, the government awarded contract for the dualisation of the road. Anyone who has built structures on the Right-of-Way should expect such buildings to be demolished.

One of the houses we have found to have interfered with the plan of Yenagoa is this one-storey structure belonging to the Governor.

On the advice of the CCDA that is concerned with development control of the state, the house was marked since last year for demolition. And you know we have awarded contract for the dualisation of the Opolo Road.”

However, some Yenagoa residents on Wednesday, according to Punch, claimed that only a section of dickson’s building was demolished, and that the exercise was a strategy to enable the government to demolish buildings of perceived opponents without causing public outrage.

A person in the Presidential Advisory Committee, Col Tony Nyiam (rtd) was the arrowhead of the disruption as he shouted down the Governor while making his contribution. The thugs believed to have  been imported from neighbouring states heckled the Governor when they seen that his contributions would be distinctive from the perceived opinion.
