Software UserGate Web Filter provides filtering at DNS- and http- requests. In the case of filtering DNS- queries , the solution emulates the DNS- server with advanced filtering. To filter web traffic UserGate Web Filter works as ICAP- server receiving requests for filtration of ICAP- client. As an ICAP- client may make proxy Squid, Microsoft ISA server, Microsoft TMG, equipment Cisco, Juniper and others that support the protocol ICAP.

UserGate Web Filter is the successor GateWall DNS Filter. The main difference between the new product lies in the fact that in addition to filtering by the DNS- queries , UserGate Web Filter supports many other methods of analyzing the content of loaded pages .
