Arjun Bakridi - The "husband"
An eight year old girl has become the youngest person ever to be divorced in India after she was married off aged just four. Fatima Mangre was given away by her father Anil, from the Shravasti district of Uttar Pradesh state, in an arranged a marriage with 10-year-old Arjun Bakridi.

However when the boy arrived four years later to take his new bride away, Anil said he wanted the girl to wait until she was 18 before leaving.

He said: 'I finally realised that this practice of marrying off daughters so young was wrong and that she should have a childhood, and that it was my duty to provide that.' However Arjun's father Dipak was unhappy with the decision, and an argument broke out after which Anil filed for divorce.

The state government of India's has called for an inquiry into the incident that happened last week at Nakhi village in the Shravasti district of India's northern state of Uttar Pradesh.

It ordered the probe after the New Delhi-based National Commission for Women (NCW) member Nirmala Samant sent a letter, demanding details of the divorce and threatening action against the parents of the girl and the boy. She said:

'This is a scandal, we need more details before taking action. The girl's father must answer why he married her off at four years old and the boy's father must answer why he agreed to such a marriage and then went to demand the girl when she is barely eight years old.
'This is insensitive, controversial and objectionable,' she added. However Fatima's father has already written to NCW, saying he should be pardoned because he stopped his daughter from being taken away by her in-laws.
'I have already admitted my mistake. Social pressures are high in our village. But the marriage has been annulled. I have admitted it was wrong to marry her off so early,' he said in a handwritten note.
He added:
'I now want to make things right. I want to give my daughter a good childhood. I will do everything to protect her.' Mr Bakridi has gone into hiding following the altercation. According to UNICEF, over 32.9 percent of the girls are married against the national average of 22.1 percent below the legally permissible age of 18 in the state.

The Shravasti district accounts for the majority underage weddings in India where the female literacy is just 19 per cent.

Shocking! RA*PE ANY GIRL ON SIGHT – The Assam Mass Ra*ping Festival in India begins.

Posted by Unknown Selasa, 19 November 2013 0 komentar
Men in India are already beginning to celebrate as the annual Assam Ra*pe Festival is just days away. Every non-married girl age 7-16 will have the chance to flee to safety or get ra*ped. Madhuban Ahluwalia who heads up the annual festival told reporters why the event is so important. “This is a long time tradition in Assam dating back thousands of years,” says Ahluwalia. “We rape the evil demons out of the girls, otherwise they will cheat on us and we will be forced to kill them. So it is necessary for everyone.”

The Assam Festival began in 43 BC when Baalkrishan Tamil Nadu molested everyone in his village of Doomdooma. Baalkrishan Tamil Nadu is remembered every year at this event, in fact the trophy given to the man with the most rapes is called.
“The Baalkrishan”. 24-year-old Harikrishna Majumdar told reporters that he has been training all year for this event. “I’m going to get the most ra*pes this year. I’ve been practicing all year. I ra*pe my sister and her friends every day. I will be rape superstar number one! I will get the Baalkrishan prize this year for sure!” 12-year-old Jaitashri Majumdar told reporters she almost made it through last year’s festival without getting ra*ped.
“I came so close to not getting ra*ped. I almost got to the ‘ra*pe-free-zone’ at the edge of town, but at the last minute 9 men jumped on me and molested me. Luckily I am just recovering now so I can participate in this year’s events, otherwise I would be put to death by stoning.” 34-year-old Brian Barnett from Toronto who is visiting Assam on business told reporters he will be missing the festivities this year.
“My company did not tell me anything about a ra*pe festival happening while I was here. Are you serious, a ra*pe festival? I’m getting the f*ck out of this backwards country tonight.” India is second in reported rapes in the world only behind the United States, though critics are quick to point out that is only because most rapes in India go unreported.

The Minister of Foreign Affairs, Prof. Viola Onwuliri, said this while answering questions from journalists at the Pre-Commonwealth Head of Government Meeting press briefing in Abuja on Monday.

Tensions between Nigerians and Indians have escalated since Simeon was found dead in Goa, a popular tourist destination in the country’s west. Simeon, according to reports, was stabbed to death on October 31 in Panaji, Goa state’s capital.

Onwuliri, who emphasised that Nigeria would not tolerate any act of unruly behaviour from its citizens, however, said the conduct of Indian authorities was unacceptable. She told journalists that the Acting Head of Mission of India in Nigeria had been summoned to her office to explain the situation.

 She said,

“Actuall,y the growing violence around the countries should be a thing of worry for member states and for us in Nigeria too. We have continued to condemn violence especially against Nigerians in different states. The recent one in India is really a big one to worry about and I have summoned the acting head of Indian Mission to admonish him on what had happened to our citizens.
“The young man was coming back from lunch. They said there was a clash between two communities, he was not part of them but he went in for it! We have also asked for unreserved apology from India. We have asked them to ensure that full-fledged investigations are carried out so that perpetrators of that act will be brought to book.”
