Apple is set to release its new tablet the iPad Air. Yes it is going to be called the iPad Air contrary to what all were expecting. This is the fifth generation iPad and the price for this new gizmo will range between $499 and $929 according to the storage capacity. Notable features in the iPad Air include:
Faster Wi-Fi and more LTE bands
Powered by the same processor like the iPhone 5s
1.2-megapixel FaceTime HD camera with 1080p HD video
Apple has opted not to include the Touch ID in the Apple Air.
Apple has just recently made an official announcement regarding the new iPad Air!
However, is it really worth upgrading if you own an iPad 4?
What's new?
The most noticeable change is the dimensions of the new iPad as it's almost 200 grams lighters and about 20% thinner than the previous model.
The speakers have been moved and placed just like on the iPad mini
The cellular version now requires a nano sim-card
A7 chip with 64-bit architecture
Space Gray, Silver color options
Unfortunately, the camera and display is the same as on the fourth generation iPad.
Obviously, no major upgrades can be seen here, though the new iPad Air should be much more comfortable to hold in hands as the previous models are pretty weighty. Also, the new iPad comes with iOS 7 pre-installed and Apple claims that it works flawlessly in combination with the new A7 chip.
It's a step to the right direction, and it definitely looks good, however, I doubt I will upgrade as I am satisfied with my iPad 4. having said that, I would definitely upgrade if I had an iPad 2!
