The most downloaded android mobile games by students

While it’s true that the iPhone and iPad have many games, the Google Play Store for Android devices has many more games. There’s one simple reason – iPhones are aimed at the everyday customer as well as
being geared for business phones, while Android phones are, generally, the choice of consumers over
businesses. We all know that high school and college years can be boring, and so app developers across the world have created some great Android games that students love. Here’s a quick list of the most downloaded android mobile games by students.

No, Final Fantasy is not exclusive to games consoles
Nearly every teenager in the Western world will have come across the Final Fantasy series of games at some point in their lives, and many more have discovered Final Fantasy III on Android. The games have been around for years, and while most current students will have come across the saga mid-way through (probably starting around Final Fantasy 7), they still seem to love the Final Fantasy Games.

The reason that the games are timeless is that they are pure escapism from the real world, combining awesome graphics with a decent storyline. Students need a break from their high school or college workload, and Final Fantasy has beaten the test of time to still frequently appear in college dorm rooms. While it may no longer be games consoles that students play Final Fantasy on, their love is the same.

I’m sure you’ve heard of Angry Birds
Unless you’ve been living under a rock for several years, you’ll have heard of Angry Birds. Many tech geeks have compared it to timeless classics such as Tetris and Snake, which used to frequent mobile phones back in the early 2000s. Students love it because Angry Birds isn’t a simple game; in fact it’s one of the few games on Android devices that needs true practice and skill to succeed at. Many times I’ve come across students who have thrown their phones or tablets in frustration at not being able to complete Angry Birds, and it seems that students around the world have picked up the challenge of beating all of the newest versions released by its developers.

Angry Birds has a very wide appeal, and is highly addictive. There was a time when we were all worried about college kids being addicted to illegal substances; nowadays they’re addicted to this much safer alternative instead.

Who’d have thought Temple Run would sweep the nation
Temple Run is a game that a lot of older people find to be very strange – the premise of the game is that you have to run away from a monster that is chasing you, avoiding various obstacles and picking up gems and coins along the way. Visually, the same is very appealing and has proven to become extremely addictive – much like Angry Birds – among younger people.

A testament to how popular the game has become in not just the US but across the world is the success of its sequel, Temple Run 2. It’s not often that mobile games receive such widespread support for their sequels, but Temple Run has certainly broken the mold. Don’t be surprised if your son or daughter tells you that Temple Run is on their Android device – they’re just one of millions!

This one isn’t just for the students
Everyone with a Facebook account will have come across their friends playing Candy Crush Saga. In fact most of us will have given into the relentless assault of requests that other players send you to assist them in the game. While not strictly a game solely for students, it has very quickly become a staple of many Android devices around the world. This game requires a lot of patience and logic to find matching patters of colorful icons with the task of clearing enough of the board within a set number of moves.

The thing that makes Candy Crush Saga so popular with students is that they have the time on their hands to sit down and play a game, loving the mental challenge that clearing the board provides them with. While not replacing action games such as Grand Theft Auto and Call of Duty, Candy Crush Saga has proven itself to fill a niche in the student game market that was left unfilled for many years.

Even your trusty Sudoku has been commandeered by Android developers
Hundreds if not thousands of times I’ve sat down and filled out a Sudoku game in the daily newspaper or weekly magazine that comes to my mailbox. However many students across the country are doing very similar math puzzles to me from the comfort of their mobile device. There are lots of free apps out there on the Google Play Store which provide students with free Sudoku games at their fingertips. You might have thought that Sudoku games were your guilty pleasure – it turns out lots of students love the challenge they provide too!
