Nigerian Man & His Wife Bag 10yrs In Chinese Prison

Posted by Unknown Selasa, 19 November 2013 0 komentar
My name is Olu, a Nigerian resident in Beijing China. My brother was sentenced by Chinese people local court to 10 years in prison for an alleged robbery case he knows nothing about. There is every indication to proof his innocence but the court has refused to grant all his proof.
Continue
The most pathetic is that his wife was also sentenced with him and right now there is no one to take care of their two babies (Aged 3years and the other 1year old). He is Type 2 diabetic and I learnt he complains of inadequate medical attention at the detention. I don’t want my brother’s case to be like the Florida man James Bain who was found innocent after spending 35 years in prison or like the reported case of Yu Yinsheng in China who was found innocent after spending 17 years in jail on the alleged of his wife murder.
The Nigerian embassy is aware of this incident but they have refused to show any interest...
They even declined the invitation extended to them by the court on two instances during the sittings. I believe their presence at the court would have made a very good impact but am yet to understand why they never showed up. While I was even at the embassy after the court judgment to complain why they were not present at the court the Deputy Chief of Mission had to threaten me with the police because he felt I was not in a position to question their authority. Since then I have been restricted from the embassy.

He was arrested and detained on the 25th of October 2012 before he was sentenced this year November 7th 2013. His lawyer has made an appeal on his behalf which the court has accepted but due to the Chinese law I don’t think the appeal would make any change if proper measure is not taken.

His lawyers have really tried to proof his innocence but with regards to the Chinese judiciary law they have limited power to defend their clients especially when the prosecutor has submitted their final verdict to the court.

The Chinese judiciary system is one I respect very much because of their very good records of operating a fair and responsible judgment but on this case there is a high degree of misconception from the prosecutor due to the high degree of conspiracy of the complaints.

I know I don’t have the final say or authority to proof my brother innocence except the court and that is why I am calling on fellow Nigerians and whom it may concern to help call on The Federal Government to call the attention of the Nigerian Embassy in Beijing to help me follow up the case at the appeal court so that the court can make sure my brother is proven innocent and released and if he has been found guilty of this allegation which I largely doubt they should be able to give substantial evidence(s).

There is no doubt that their several Nigerians who are involved in various criminal activities in China but at the same time there several Nigerians whom have distinguished their selves very well and positively in their various fields in China. The police and the court all over the world are human being, no matter how diligent their system might be they sometimes make error in their assessment and judgment. The negligence and uncared attitude of our embassy when some of us are found in situations like this has made several innocent Nigerians to be languishing in the Chinese jail.

They are the only one that can rescue Nigerians in situation like this by defending our human rights. I am not saying they should support those Nigerians who are really involved in criminal activities because no upright country would defend her nationals who come to another country to dent the image of the country by involving in criminal activities but they owe it a duty to protect our nationals anywhere and time their rights were infringed upon.

Chinese are very accommodating people but sometimes they treat foreigners according to the way their country treats their own nationals. The Chinese are not the ones making us to live under pressure in China but our own authorities.

Please I am calling on the whole Nigerians and concerned to help me add their voice(s) so that the Nigerian government can call the attention of the Nigerian embassy in Beijing to show interest in my brother case. I know they don’t have the authority to tell the Chinese government to just release my brother all I want is for them to help him in defending his human right and make sure they give him the right judgment.

I still believe in the system of the Chinese judiciary system and that is why we have made appeal to the Supreme Court that if the court thoroughly look into this case with the interest of the Nigeria embassy in Beijing the court would finally make the right judgment.

Pastor Takes His Wife's Undies to a herbalist For Money Rituals In Lagos

A sad housewife, Caroline Omoseebi, has asked the Alakuko Customary Court in Lagos State to dissolve her 44-year-old marriage to her husband, Pastor Ayemisan, over his attempt to use her for money rituals.

Caroline confessed to the court that her husband took her panties to a herbalist:
“He is the one that deflowered me, now he wants to use me for money rituals and has taken my panties to a herbalist. this was why I took my belongings out of his house.
“My husband insisted that he has to be rich by whatever means, and that was why he joined the secret cult. He has put a sign on my child for ritual purpose. He even tried to inflict me and one of our children with partial stroke...
“Though he is the father of our seven children, I will not go back to his house.”

According to Caroline, they got married 44 years ago and have grown up children. She added that they were living in harmony before their marriage started facing challenges due to her husband's greed.
Pastor Ayemisani, who was a carpenter before he became a pastor, denied all the allegations. He said that his wife was telling lies against him, insisting that he is a "real" pastor.

He also alleged that they never had problem until she started moving with bad friends.

“Since she joined the club of bad friends 10 years ago, she has become uncontrollable,” he said.

Funny enough, Pastor Ayemisan told the court that he was not ready to divorce his wife and he is now ready to change his wrong ways.

The court president, Mr. Godwin Awosola, adjourned the case for judgment with a warning that the couple and all other related parties should maintain peace.

The wife, Caroline, however insisted that she can't stay in one house with him so as not to be used for rituals.

After treating myself, I will never go back there again. I will not even wish my enemy to marry in that kind of place again.”-Chime –Wife

Posted by Unknown Selasa, 12 November 2013 0 komentar

Mrs. CLARA Chime on Monday left the Government House in Enugu claiming she had been under pressure to remain as wife of  the Enugu State Governor, Sullivan Chime. She said she would have walked away from the marriage during the period Chime was sick and was away for five months, but remained on “very compassionate grounds.”

Mrs. Chime said her thinking was that the sickness would change the governor’s ways towards her but that he got worse months after his return from cancer treatment abroad. According to her, on many occasions she attempted to leave but her family members, for pecuniary reasons, insisted she stayed put. She said even when it was apparent that Chime no longer wanted the marriage, her family would not let her go.
She disclosed this through the mobile phone of one of her male siblings, about four hours after she eventually packed out from the Governors’ Lodge on Monday. The sibling declined revealing his identity to The source, but stated that he was one of the few family members who supported Mrs. Chime’s agitation to quit the marriage. He said if he revealed his identity, it could cause a stir between him and other family members with whom members of the Chime family were still holding meetings on the matter.
He claimed that Chime had long lost interest in the marriage but held forth because he (Chime) didn’t want his image stained.

“So there was no need joining other family members into forcing her to remain in a marriage that he (the governor) was no longer interested in,” said the source.
He said,
“Governor Sullivan Chime just wanted to keep her within the lodge for fear that she could open up on certain things she knew about him if she was allowed to leave unceremoniously.”

When the source eventually brought Mrs. Chime on the phone to speak with our correspondent, she said, “I regained my freedom to move around on Saturday and I eventually forced my way out of that place (Government House) today (Monday).”
She said, “I am not the one who is sick, but I became sick because of the way I was treated. There are some things people would do to you that make you sick or even die.”
“After treating myself, I will never go back there again. I will not even wish my enemy to marry in that kind of place again.”
When contacted, the state Commissioner for Information, Mr. Chuks Ugwuoke, said he just returned from Lagos and was not aware.
“I have been away in Lagos and cannot speak on anything I don’t know of, especially when it is a family matter. I will call you as soon as I am briefed,” Ugwuoke said.
Meanwhile, a Lagos-based lawyer, Mr. Fred Agbaje, has called on the National Human Rights Commission to probe further into the issue between Chime and his wife.Agbaje said in a statement on Monday that as personalities who lived on public fund,
the citizenry deserved to know the truth about the situation and Clara’s true state of health.
He said both the governor and his wife might not have told the whole truth about the issue.
He said,
“There must be an end to sinking lies. The Chimes of this world need another fatter lies to cover their present lies. The truth is that one Mrs Clara Chime is ill. To cover her public odium, she was cleverly and unconstitutionally detained by Chime.
“As for the NHRC, they need to do more research into the Chimes’ affairs and expose every unconstitutionalities, not the present contradictory conflicting charade comming out of the commission.”
