Back in the Android 4 Ice Cream Sandwich days the stock browser for Android devices was AOSP Browser, however, since Android 4.1 Jelly Bean the stock browser is now Google Chrome. But is Chrome necessarily better?

Clearly, the answer to that question is no and here's why:
- AOSP Browser is Smoother
- AOSP Browser has Better Pinch to Zoom
- AOSP Browser Loads websites faster

To install the AOSP Browser, you have 2 options:
1) install the browser seperately

2) flash a custom ROM such as Paranoid Android 3

Browsermark 2.0 benchmark results (default v18 vs beta v25):
1799 vs 1965

Despite the little increase in benchmark results, the beta version seems to run smoother than the default version. Google still has to work to achieve the smoothness of safari browser Apple devices are using.

Happy New Year!

I have recorded fireworks around me with 2 of my latest devices - Nexus 4 and Galaxy S2.

Both of the devices are recording video in HD 1080p mode with the stock camera application. This is raw footage, watch in 1080p for best experience.

Galaxy S2 zooms in automatically because of recording in 1080p quality whereas Nexus 4 maintains the quality without messing with zoom.
